Look # 15. New Era in Louis Vuitton
31 week ago “crème de la crème” of the fashion world were all to be found in Paris. Magnificent big glass cube was standing proudly in the middle of the Cour Carrée du Louvre that day, in which Louis Vuitton planned to show the audience fall/winter 2014 collection.
It was definitely one of the most anticipated shows of fall/winter season. In November 4 2013, it was announced that Nicolas Ghesquiére is the new artistic director of Louis Vuitton – just weeks after Marc Jacobs had announced his retirement from the house after his spring/summer 2014 show.
What novelties could the ex-creative designer of Balenciaga bring to the famous fashion house? Will Ghesquiére bring Louis Vuitton to the higher level or will he fail? Everyone was gossiping inside (and outside) the show before it started. But then suddenly, we all became silent when jalousie which were covering big glass windows started to open and fill the area with the morning spring light. Music started to play, models appeared on the sunny catwalk, and we already had no doubts that Louis Vuitton is on the way to the bright future.
The collection was inspired by Jane Birkin and was featured in the campaign by her daughter Charlotte Gainsbourg. I had no chance and fell in love with almost all the dresses in which you could feel strong touch of 70’s. So its the first but not the last look from this collection that I will present you in my blog.)))
On the pictures me wearing: Boots and dress from the first collection of Nicolas Ghesquiére for Louis Vuitton, vintage Chanel earrings, Repossi bracelet, American Apparel beret.
