Vintage Look – YSL dress
Since my early teen I’ve been always completely into the retro fashion and music. Second world war feminine fashion with Marlene Dietrich as the main style icon. Late 40’s/beginning of 50’s with revolutionary “New look” by Dior and Audrey Hepburn Givenchy outfits. Edie Sedgwick who embodied the freewheeling sixties with her more is more approach to layering leopard print furs over striped T-shirts (worn simply as dresses), chandelier earrings, exaggerated mod eye makeup and thick black tights. Studio 54 era in 70’s with style icon Bianca Jagger wearing dresses made by her friend Halston and famous Yves Saint Laurent suits. I adore all of that!
So it was just a matter of time that my wardrobe started to be filled with vintage pieces made by famous designers or unknown forgotten brands from the past.
Today I will show you an amazing vintage dress by Yves Saint Laurent. To be honest it is always a hustle with sizing when you buy a vintage piece, but don’t be lazy and pass by an atelier where they can fix the dress on you. Its definitely worth it. Just remember buying a vintage dress is like buying a piece of history.
